To help SCCC students succeed in becoming teachers, Seattle Central Teacher Training/Education Programs is partnering with school districts, universities and state agencies including Seattle Public Schools, Professional Educator Standards Board, Green River Community College, University of Washington (Seattle), Antioch University, Seattle Pacific University, City University, and Western Washington University.
The FTA program is especially interested in enrolling students of diverse ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as males, who are underrepresented in the field of education.
These institutions and agencies have committed to providing diverse FTA students who meet minimum criteria with various enrollment incentives such as a seamless associate to bachelor’ s degree curriculum transfer, tuition scholarships, personalized transfer advising, dual SCCC/University credit agreements etc.
