Dual Enrollment Articulation Agreement Between Seattle Central Community College And Seattle Public Schools

Careers in Education (CIE)- is a year long Education Career Pathway Course for Seattle public high school students. Seattle Central professors have reviewed that CIE meets College requirements for identified courses:

  1. EDUC 206 Introduction to Education (5 credits)
  2. CMN Effective Presentations (5 credits)
  3. EDU 299 Classroom Observation (2 credits).

SCCC Enrollment: Students interested in applying for admission and enrolling in Associate in Elementary Education degree program may apply for credit for Seattle Central courses EDUC 206, CMST 220 and EDU 299*. Prior to application the student must take the College admissions COMPASS test with scores making them eligible for ENG 101. ENG 101 eligibility is required to receive credit for CMST 220.

*These courses have been renumbered in 2009.

How To Get Started:

SPS students enrolled in CIE earn high school completion credits. In order to register and receive SCCC college credit, the student must submit the following by June 1st :


Register at the testing office 587-6913 and complete the SCCC college designated placement test.

Submit a completed SCCC registration form

Submit a "Request for Credit Form" signed by the instructor, the student, and the parent / guardian (if under 18 years of age)

Download Request for Credit Form

Submit a signed by instructor competency-learning outcomes form

Submit a $60.00 check or money order made out to SCCC
