The Future Teachers of America [FTA] Program

Teacher Training/Education Programs at Seattle Central is partnering with school districts and a number of universities and state agencies, to help students transfer and succeed in becoming teachers.

Seattle Central’s Future Teachers of America program includes partnerships with Seattle Public Schools, University of Washington (Seattle), Antioch University, Seattle Pacific University, City University and Western Washington University. The program targets and enrolls males, as well as students of diverse ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds who are underrepresented in the field of education. These institutions, all located in Seattle, have committed to providing diverse FTA students who meet minimum criteria with various enrollment incentives such as a seamless associate to bachelor’ s degree curriculum transfer, tuition scholarships, personalized transfer advising, dual SCCC/University credit agreements etc.

Associate in Elementary Education DTA Program

The Associate in Elementary Education-Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA/MRP) Program takes approximately two years to complete based upon full-time enrollment.
